Plat Nude Beach

The beach is pebbly, with a few large rocks and very clean (no seaweed or litter). Unlike other naturist beaches in the area the beach gently shelves into the sea allowing weak or non-swimmers to enjoy the water. Although there are no facilities directly on the beach, two tavernas and fresh water showers are within 150m. The beach is popular with those staying at the nearby Hotel Orphee/Plat and attracts a good mix of people including families. The atmosphere is friendly and very "international" with many countries represented. The beach faces southwest into Zupa bay and as such has very little shade for most of the day so a parasol could be considered essential. Many naturists return to their hotel or apartments during the hottest part of the day leaving their belongings safely on the beach. Although the beach is small it can accommodate some 30 - 40 people before it starts to feel crowded (which it never did during our recent 2 week stay).Car parking can be a problem as it is very limited by the jetty. The best thing is to leave your car on the road a little higher up than the hotel and walk the few hundred metres to the beach.
Location of the beach: Plat, Near Cavtat
How to get there: Travel north on the main coast highway from Cavtat for some 3km to reach the small village of Plat. Follow the signs to Hotel Plat located next to the shore. Turn left at the bottom of the hill (signposted to the diving centre and "nightclub"). Pass the Taverna Plat and you will reach a small rock and concrete jetty where taxi boats can be boarded for trips to Cavtat, Mlini and Dubrovnik. Immediately adjacent to the jetty and extending south for some 100m is the official naturist beach (there are FKK signs painted onto the jetty)
